A Space to Breathe, Reflect and Grow

About Me

I’m Liv, and I believe every client is the expert in their own life. I offer a flexible, person-centred approach, helping you explore challenges, process emotions, and build self-awareness and resilience — all in a safe, inclusive, and affirming space.

How I Can Support You

Each session lasts 50 minutes and costs £40, with concessionary rates available if needed. Sessions provide a safe, confidential space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at your own pace. Together, we can work on understanding challenges, processing difficult feelings, and building self-awareness and resilience, helping you feel supported and empowered in your life.

I offer sessions via telephone or video to make counselling more accessible and convenient. These sessions provide the same safe, supportive, and confidential space as in-person therapy, allowing you to explore your thoughts and emotions from wherever you feel most comfortable. I also offer single, short-term, and long-term sessions to suit your individual needs. Whether you’re looking for support for a specific issue, guidance over a few weeks, or ongoing therapy, we can tailor our work together to what feels most helpful for you.

Arrange a Time to Talk

Taking the first step in therapy can feel daunting, but you don’t have to do it alone. Reach out and begin your journey in a safe, supportive space.

What is Client First Counselling?

At my practice, I follow a person-centred, integrative approach — which means the focus is always on you. Client-first counselling means we work together to find a therapy style and pace that feels safe, comfortable, and tailored to your unique needs. You guide the journey, and I support you with empathy, understanding, and flexibility.

What happens in my first session?

Our first session is not a formal assessment, and there is no lengthy paperwork to complete beforehand. I will email you my counselling contract in advance so you can read it in your own time. During our initial meeting, we can discuss how you feel about the contract, clarify any questions about confidentiality or the way I work, and explore any anxieties about starting therapy.

I will gently invite you to share what has brought you to therapy and what feels present for you. There is no pressure to go into detail or disclose more than feels comfortable. This session is an opportunity for us to see whether we feel like the right fit and whether my person-centred approach feels supportive for you.

We can also discuss any preferences or adjustments that would help therapy feel comfortable and accessible. My fees are the same for online or telephone sessions, and for short- or long-term work. Concessionary rates are available, and we can consider fortnightly or monthly sessions if needed.

By the end of the session, we can decide whether to continue working together, agree on session frequency, and ensure any questions you have have been answered.

FAQs

What will counselling with you look like?

My therapeutic approach is grounded in empathy, compassion, and creating a space free from judgement. I believe that feeling truly heard and understood can be transformative but alongside this, I value adaptability. Some sessions may simply offer a steady, supportive listening ear. Others may provide space to process difficult emotions, untangle overwhelming thoughts, or explore patterns that you feel stuck in. At times, our work may gently and safely explore trauma, identity, relationships, or complex life experiences, always at a pace that feels manageable for you.

I work collaboratively, trusting that you are the expert in your own life. My role is not to direct, but to walk alongside you, offering insight where helpful, reflecting with care, and supporting you to develop deeper self-awareness and resilience.

Whatever your gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, or cultural background, I aim to create a therapeutic space that feels warm, inclusive, and affirming. A space where you can delve deeper, express emotions freely, and feel validated in your experiences.

What qualifications do you have?

I hold both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy, grounded in an integrative and relational framework. My training exposed me to a range of therapeutic approaches and specialisms, allowing me to develop a broad, adaptable practice rather than working from a single model.

What do you specialise in?

I have a particular passion for supporting women who have experienced trauma, whether directly or indirectly. I understand how often traumatic experiences, relationships, or societal expectations can become normalised, and I aim to offer a space where these can be explored safely, compassionately, and without minimisation. I also work closely with individuals navigating grief and loss. Grief is deeply personal and can feel isolating; therapy can provide space to speak openly, name complex emotions, and process loss at your own pace.

Your emotional safety and the quality of our therapeutic relationship are central to my work. I am committed to ongoing learning so clients feel understood without needing to educate or justify their experiences. Whatever you are carrying, you are welcome to reach out.
